In a Jefferson County District Court during October, 2011 Bruce obtained a not guilty verdict for his client charged with first degree assault who had in self-defense broken her husband's nose and facial bones with a piece of a chair. The prosecutor's were relentless in pursuing this case which could have resulted in Bruce's client being sentence to a mandatory lengthy prison term, if convicted.
